The Best Scotland Elopement Photographers (for 2024/2025)

I’ve been lucky enough to work with so many incredible photographers over the years. So this recommendation list is real, and it’s made up of photographers I’ve specifically worked with and love. I want to share beyond the beautiful photos and into a little more of the experience of working with that photographer. These photographers either solely do, or specialise in elopements. Elopement photography is a little different and in general I think it’s worth working with a photographer who lives, breathes and loves these small ceremonies.

This is a live list that I will continue to update - I am waiting on some photos as I write this and can’t wait to update for the rest of my 2023 elopements.

1. Tamar Hope (and her husband, Matt)

I’ve been personally photographed by Tamar twice (she did my maternity photos and a family session after my sweet baby was born!), and I worked with her on a vow renewal, too. Tamar is so kind, relaxed and easygoing. She directs very gently, but is really about capturing the day in its natural glory. Her husband, Matt, is a stunning videographer, and so they make a great team! If you’re looking for something relaxed and real, Tamar is a wonderful choice. Because she’s a family photographer, she’s also great if there are children involved in your ceremonies!

See more of Tamar’s work on her website here.

And here is Matt’s website.

A vow renewal I conducted with Tamar at Prestonfield House in Edinburgh (stunning place to stay if you’re coming to Edinburgh and want luxury!)

2. The Kitcheners

Dylan doesn’t really need any introduction in Scotland - his work always feels like a painting, as well as being somehow cinematic. Dylan captures the emotions of a ceremony so beautifully. If you are looking for images that feel almost like a dream, Dylan is your guy. I sense he has a fashion eye, too, so if you’re wearing something quite special, he’ll capture all of its beauty.

Below are some photos of a Glencoe elopement we did together.

3. Joanna Eliza Gull (and her partner Nathan gull on video)

Joanna’s photos have this timeless film photo feel (and she does shoot 35mm if you like!). We did a drizzly summer elopement together. The pictures and film captured just how in love the couple was, and how they didn’t mind a wee rainy adventure! There’s this brightness that Joanna captures that I find so unique. Joanna is super down to earth, gentle and so creative. I always see her doing new things and I love that.

4. Raini Rowell

Raini’s photos have this ethereal quality to me. We did an elopement together up at Dunnottar Castle near Aberdeen and the photos are just glorious. The photos look like a fairytale. It’s obvious how much Raini loves what she does, and I’ve seen her go on multi-day adventures with her couples.

This was a ceremony at the incredible Dunnottar Castle that I did with Raini.

5. Natalia Swiader

Natalia has a gorgeous soft-toned style. I’ve done two elopements with her, one on the brightest sunniest day and the other on a gloomy rainy day; both sets of photos are incredible. Natalia has such a talent. In my mind she is the go-to for Edinburgh elopements - I’ve seen some really creative couple photos from her.

6. Emily black

Emily’s work is incredible - she specialises in elopements and captures the moments in such a cinematic way. I always feel like Emily catches the layers of texture in this way that you feel you could reach out and feel it. She’s incredibly knowledgeable of different spots and elopements beyond Scotland.
